Lee County Primary School requires that all students receive instruction and master learning standards for each grade level. Achievement and effort are assessed each quarter. You will be informed of your child’s progress with a standards-based report card. Standards-based report cards provide more information and support teaching and learning more than traditional report cards, which only provide an average number grade for a subject area. With the standards-based report, you will have accurate information on what your child knows and is able to do. There will be teacher acknowledgement of your child’s strengths and weaknesses and immediate attention given to individual student needs. The standards-based report cards uses numerical levels to indicate performance of the grade level standards for each quarter. An explanation of these markings is provided below:
- 4--Exceeds standards
- 3--Consistently and independently achieves the standard
- 2--Progressing toward achievement of the standard
- 1--Limited or minimum progress toward achievement of the standard
The standards checklists can be found at each grade level’s homepage.
