Mrs. Emmie Glass has been teaching at Lee County Primary School since 2019, with 9 years experience as a lead classroom teacher and an additional 2.5 years experience as a paraprofessional. She received an undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University in Nutrition and Food Science where she met her husband, Ben Glass. After graduation, Mrs. Glass spent some time as a substitute where she fell in love with the classroom. She went back to school at Albany State University for her Certification in Early Childhood Education and then earned her Masters in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. She is currently pursuing her Specialist degree in Reading Education from Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Glass has a Gifted Education Endorsement and is also a Growing Readers Teacher. While she currently teaches kindergarten in a co-taught inclusion classroom, she has also taught pre-k and second grade. Mrs. Glass has also worked closely with the Lee County Family Connection program, Literate Lee, teaching a school readiness program for 3 year olds and their caregivers.
Mrs. Glass grew up in Marietta but is proud to call Lee County home. She and Ben have been married for 13 years and have two boys, Turner (8) and John Walker (6). Mrs. Glass enjoys spending time outside with her family, reading, and taking walks with her dogs. In the summers, they enjoy swimming at the beach and fishing at the lake.
Mrs. Glass’s teaching philosophy is “Love Them First.” Understanding that relationships are the foundation for success, she believes that when children feel safe and loved, the magic of learning will begin. Mrs. Glass has a passion for literacy and her absolute favorite thing about kindergarten is teaching children how to read. With a belief that kindergarten is the foundational building block of a students school career, her goal is for her students to not only love learning but also have the confidence to try new things. Mrs. Glass is proud to work at Lee County Primary School with the most talented, passionate, and supportive administrators, teachers, and staff.
